Dear collectors, I present to you a pair of new models, Lipizzan horses, a mare and a foal. The mare is in a unique pose for a model horse, she's shaking her head and mane. Her playful colt seems to be a bit surprised by his mother's expression.
When you think of Lipizzaners perhaps the first picture that comes to mind is the impressive stallion from the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
But there is also the other side, the time of relaxation, the summer sun, sweet laziness. Horses caring only about getting rid of too many flies. And this is what I wanted to show in this work. That's also the reason I've chosen for unofficial names for them rather than traditional names used in this breed.
The inspiration for this sculpture was born during my holiday in Slovenia last summer. Imagine a sunny day in the middle of July, somewhere near Lipica, long grass, buzzing bees and a group of grey mares looking for the shadow under the trees. They shook their manes quite often because of the irritating flies. Foals did not seem bothered though, playing around happily. I loved it and I hope my work shows a bit of that moment! :)
